This crane has had a new modern coin mech fitted.  I am in the process of  of constructing one using a relay and a coin slot which will accept

old pennies.  This will make it look more like the original.  Of course though the original contained a mercury switch.    

The Crane, of which many different versions were marketed.  It was first introduced in the United States in the early 1920s.  The vogue for cranes during the 1930s was enormous.  Not only in America but also in Europe where a number of manufacturers were to produce their version of it.
